چکیده

Diarylpentanoids exhibit a high degree of anti-cancer activity and stability in vitro over curcumin prostate cancer cells. Hence, this study aims to investigate the effects diarylpentanoid, 1,5-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1,4-pentadiene-3-one (MS13) on cytotoxicity, anti-proliferative, apoptosis-inducing, anti-migration properties, underlying molecular mechanisms treated androgen-independent cells, DU 145 PC-3. A cell viability assay has shown greater cytotoxicity MS13-treated cells (EC 50 7.57 ± 0.2 µM) PC-3 7.80 0.7 compared : 145; 34.25 2.7 µM PC-3; 27.77 6.4 µM). In addition, MS13 exhibited significant anti-proliferative against AIPC dose- time-dependent manner. Morphological observation, increased caspase-3 activity, reduced Bcl-2 protein levels these indicated that induces apoptosis time- dose-dependent. Moreover, effectively inhibited migration Our results suggest cycle-apoptosis PI3K pathways were topmost impacted by activity. findings may demonstrate modulating DEGs associated with pathways, thus inhibiting proliferation as well inducing

Anti-proliferative effect and induction of apoptosis in androgen-independent human prostate cancer cells by 1,5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,4-pentadiene-3-one.

Curcumin has poor in vivo absorption and bioavailability, highlighting a need for new curcumin analogues with better characteristics in these aspects. The aim of this study is to determine the anti-cancer properties of four selected curcumin analogues, on the cytotoxicity, proliferative and apoptotic effects on androgen-independent human prostate cancer cells (PC-3 and DU 145). Initial cytotoxi...

Evaluation of Anti-cancer activity of Boswellic acid and Montelukast sodium against human prostate cancer cell line PC-3

Prostate cancer is a devastating disease for which current therapies are inadequate. Various lines of evidences have suggested the 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) pathway and the leukotriene receptor pathway are potential targets for prevention or treatment of Prostate cancer. Thus, search for new anti-cancer drugs targeting 5-LOX and leukotriene is very essential and important. The objective of the pre...

Anti-proliferative effect and apoptotic induction of sesquiterpene lactone parthenolide in a human breast cancer cell line

Parthenolide is a secondary metabolite, which naturally occurs in the feverfew plant and is responsible for its healing power. The potential of parthenolide in inhibition of cancer cell growth, alone or in combination with other anti-cancer therapeutics, have been studied in several laboratories. In this study, the effect of extracted parthenolide on the expression of seven pro-apoptotic genes,...

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs induce colorectal cancer cell apoptosis by suppressing 14-3-3epsilon.

To determine the role of 14-3-3 in colorectal cancer apoptosis induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), we evaluated the effects of sulindac on 14-3-3epsilon protein expression in colorectal cancer cells. Sulindac sulfide inhibited 14-3-3epsilon proteins in HT-29 and DLD-1 cells in a time- and concentration-dependent manner. Sulindac sulfone at 600 mumol/L inhibited 14-3-3epsil...
